AIRLab Photos at Events
AIRLab Students Present at the NY AI Summit, 2025
Promise Ekpo, Giuliano Pioldi, Yashika Batra, Royi Rozen, and Ann-Kareen Gedeous presented their work spanning Intelligent Robotic Crash Carts, to AI-driven apps that educate patients about their medical conditions, to AI-driven apps to promote mental health in young adults.

Robot & Augmented and Mixed Reality Field Deployments at BASE Camp (Weill Cornell Medicine), 2025
We deployed procedural generation applications on the Snatchap Spectacles and a Wizard-of-Oz controlled crash cart robot. Our goal is to understand how these technologies can positively influence teamwork in safety-critical environments. Better teamwork can lead to improved patient outcomes. These photos show to preparation required to conduct field studies and the environments we test our robotic and AR and mixed reality systems. This year, we had the pleasure of celebrating Promise Ekpo’s birthday on the same day as our field deployments! We celebrated Promise’s birthday after our first day of deployments!
Virtual Healthcare in the Mainstream Symposium, 2025
Dr. Taylor gave a talk about reserach AIRLab research at the intersection of human-robot interaction (HRI) and human-computer interaction (HCI) focused on assitive technologies with clinicians to improve patient outcomes.
Northeastern Robotics Colloquium (NERC), 2025
AIRLab attended NERC at Cornell University! Promise Ekpo presented her work of multi-agent reinforcement learning and Prof. Taylor co-organized the event to ensure its success!
Nebil Oumer's Graduation, 2025
Congratulations to Nebil Oumer for graduating from Cornell Tech with his Master’s in Electrical Engineering! Nebil joined AIRLab in Fall 2024 to develop embedded systems for sensing human-object interactions in Medical Crash Cart Robot drawer compartments.
Nebil's contributions to the Medical Crash Cart Robot project have been invaluable! Well wishes to Nebil in his future endeavors at ASSA Abloy!
Dr. Taylor Appreciation Gift from AIRLab, 2025
18 students worked in AIRLab including 5 PhD students, 7 Master’s students, and 6 undergraduate students. As the academic school year comes to an end AIRLab students recognized Prof. Taylor for her continued mentorship and support!
New York Academy of Medicine Event, 2025
AIRLab had the opportunity to present our research on robotic crash carts and augmented reality (AR) technology designed to support technical innovation for Emergency Medicine education at the New York American College of Emergency Physicians Emergency Department Practice Innovations Conference. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our work and connect with others pushing the boundaries of healthcare innovation.

Craft@Large Showcase at Open Studio, Cornell Tech, 2024
Yuanchen (Sophie) Bai co-led the Craft@Large Collective workshops with Niti Parkih, the Cornell Tech MakerLab Director, to engage artists, makers, engineers, and stakeholders from the emergency room, sleep clinic, and long-term healthcare facility to design and build new robots that engage with healthcare workers, patients, and staff with everyday tasks.

The AIRLab experimental testbed is up and running! It features an overhead rail system, Vicon cameras for precision 3D motion tracking, and a patient room setup.
